I received a lovely e-mail the other day inviting me to be part of the international website and directory that is ‘Cake and Pictures’.
This is how they describe who they are:
“Cake & Pictures is an exclusive directory of simply the finest wedding photographers in the world. If photography is important to you, you are in the right place. Though our photographers are listed where they live, they are all available for destination weddings anywhere.”
So that’s sounds pretty nice doesn’t it? I just love the design of this site and it’s commercial sister site ‘Wonderful Machine’.
A couple of images from a lovely shoot in Paekakariki last week.
This is the poet Helen Heath.
She’s really really good.
Travelling with a camera can be great…but at times it’s just…heavy.
So when I was in London, I didn’t carry it with me. Instead I took my iphone with a little app called ‘Hipstamtaic’ that makes everything look like a polaroid. Granted, a very small polaroid, but a polaroid none the less. I sort of think it has it’s own kind of beauty.
Shot around Buckingham Palace…ish.
This was shot in the woods around the chateau in Poitiers, France, while I was there in May. All thanks to Elizabeth Messina’s great idea to host a bunch of photographers in one of the most wonderful places I have been.

Beautiful light huh?
Golden light, lens flare and that vintage summery feel….I can hardly remember. This was from a wedding I shot a couple months ago, before the winter set in. Laura and Richard at Parehua Estate in the Wairarapa.
