Melody’s sister made all the outfits at this wedding. Well not all of them but almost…the brides dress, all the bridesmaids dresses, the groom’s suit, her grandmother’s outfit…I’m sure there were more…to say I was impressed is a bit of an understatement.
The reception was at Tirohana Estate. They sure know how to look after their guests.
And the awesome Dara Wakely was on hair and make-up.
Lovely day, lovely people.

There were some great colours here but every now and then I like a good old black & white image.
Will post the whole story when I get back next week.

In Martinborough on Friday.
A challenging day in some respects…photographers will appreciate gear failure…thank god for backup (don’t worry Mel and Chris, all your images are totally safe).
But also a great day with heaps of lovliness…you can hopefully see what I mean.
The above pictures were shot at Olivio…home of very delicious Olive Oil….thank you Helen and John.
More soon…

Dunshea’s Deli in Khandallah. Go there. It’s really really good.
Kerryn (interior designer) & Craig (chef) own/run it. They’ve done a wicked job of fitting it out (from scratch) and creating delicious treats. So clever.
You’ll see when you get there.
Also, they took some pictures of their reno, you can see them here. I love a good before and after.

Martinborough yesterday…on a location scout. It rained. A lot. I got very wet and so did my camera.
I like this wee house in the field…it kind of exudes poise and grace, despite looking a little lonely.
I know some people like this. I dig them.

I love stationery as much as the next girl.
So I made some of my own.
Wee notecards to use for this and that…rounded corners, beautiful art paper….mmmm.
*Updated to add: I just made these for promo, etc…not to sell, in case that wasn’t clear! But if anyone does want some, just let me know and I can post some out to you.

I’ve been going through some old weddings…and I refound this one. For some reason I just love this picture. Total grab shot on the way back to the reception. I think I may have even fallen over as I was shooting. Can’t remember but I like the light. And the people.
Shot at Boomrock, a magical place to get married.

This album was a finalist for the 2011 NZIPP Wedding Album of the Year at the Infocus conference I went to last weekend. Which was full of inspiration. Not just from the amazing speakers (some were especially special) but also from the punters who attended.
I love being surrounded by other photographers who are doing awesome things…it creates a buzz and I definitely felt it. Some friends I’ve made at these conferences are a big part of why I go back. You can’t beat collective creativity.
The above album won a silver award. This wedding was full of beauty. And the details were pretty damn cool. Thanks Chloe and Ben for having so much style.
Oh and the very sweet Emma Hughes won the category. Again. Go Emma!
